Managing order statuses effectively is crucial for keeping both you and your customers informed about the progress of each order. Here’s how to handle order statuses and updates in your Mech Keybs store:

Accessing Order Status

  1. Log in to your Vendor Dashboard
  2. Navigate to Orders
  3. You’ll see the current status of each order in the order list

Understanding Order Statuses

Mech Keybs uses the following order statuses:

  • Pending: Order received, but not yet processed
  • Processing: Order has been accepted and is being prepared
  • On Hold: Awaiting payment or other action
  • Completed: Order fulfilled and shipped to the customer
  • Cancelled: Order cancelled by the customer or seller
  • Refunded: Order refunded to the customer

Updating Order Status

To update an order’s status:

  1. Click on the order number to view order details
  2. Find the “Order Status” dropdown menu
  3. Select the appropriate status
  4. Click “Update” to save the changes

Bulk Status Updates

For efficient management of multiple orders:

  1. Go to your Orders page
  2. Select multiple orders using the checkboxes
  3. Choose the desired status from the “Bulk Actions” dropdown
  4. Click “Apply” to update all selected orders

Automatic Status Updates

Some actions will automatically update the order status:

  • When you mark an order as shipped, it automatically changes to “Completed”
  • If a refund is processed, the status changes to “Refunded”

Best Practices for Status Updates

  • Update statuses promptly to keep customers informed
  • Use order notes (see “Adding order notes” section) to provide additional details
  • Ensure your store policies align with your status update practices

Customer Notifications

Customers receive email notifications when:

  • Their order status changes
  • You add a customer-visible order note
